With the NEFA Spring Conference just around the corner, we’ve put together our must‑sees for anyone joining us in Huntington Beach at the end of this month. From sweeping beaches to wildlife reserves, laid‑back surf culture and sunset strolls, here are our top five things to do while you’re in Surf City!

1. Wander the iconic Huntington Beach Pier: No trip to Huntington Beach is complete without a stroll along its famous 1,850‑foot pier, one of the longest on the West Coast. Enjoy panoramic ocean views, watch surfers ride the waves below, or simply grab a coffee and soak in the sunset. It’s the perfect way to experience the heart of Surf City.

2. Explore Bolsa Chica Ecological Reserve: Just a short distance from the waterfront, this 1,300 acre coastal wetland is a haven for wildlife lovers. With over 200 bird species, walking trails, and peaceful lookout points, it’s ideal for a morning walk before conference sessions or a relaxing afternoon escape.

3. Relax on Huntington State Beach: Two miles of classic California coastline stretch between Newport and Huntington Beach, perfect for sunbathing, beach volleyball, or simply unwinding by the ocean. With year‑round lifeguards and incredible sunsets, it’s one of the best spots to pause and recharge between events.

4. Stroll Downtown and Main Street: Just steps from the pier, Downtown Huntington Beach is buzzing with surf shops, cafés, bars, and boutique stores.
